Awards and Recognitions

The Connecticut Association of School Personnel Administrators is pleased to announce our 2026 annual Award Winners. Congratulations to these individuals who were selected because of their outstanding contributions to the work of HR in K-12 education. Our 2026 winners were recognized at our Annual Conference on May 8, 2026.

Amy Brace, HR Specialist for Berlin Public Schools, has been selected as the Connecticut HR Specialist/Support Staff of the Year for 2026.

Becky Fairbairn, Director of Human Resources for Regional School District #1, has been selected as the Connecticut Personnel Administrator of the Year for 2026. 

CASPA: Connecticut Personnel Administrator of the Year Award

The CASPA Personnel Administrator of the Year Award is given to an active member of CASPA who has at the local, state, national, and/or international level, distinguished themselves in personnel administration; is involved and a contributing participant in personnel functions and/or programs; whose contributions have had a significant impact on public education; is a skilled manager of change and is creative in their approach to personnel administration; approached personnel administrative work with a sense of humor and sense of respect for their fellow person.  The nominee must be an active CASPA member and currently serving in a personnel administrative position. The rubric for criteria is below.

 

Personnel Administrator of the Year Award  

Connecticut HR Specialist/Support Staff of the Year Award

The Human Resources Specialist/Support Staff Award is given to an individual whose contributions have had significant impact on the efficiency of the human resources office and to the field of human resources; who has at the local, state/province, national, and/or international level distinguished themselves through leadership service; and is a collaborative, contributing participant in personnel functions and/or programs.  Active CASPA membership is not required. The nominee shall not serve in a managerial or supervisory capacity to be eligible for the award. The rubric for criteria is below.
