The CAS Leadership Academy provides meaningful pathways for professional growth that result in deeper teacher engagement, a vision of highly effective leadership, and ultimately, enhanced educator retention. This year, we had 50 teacher leaders from across the state participate in our leadership academies. Participants were highly-engaged in a leadership project that not only provided an opportunity to apply their learning from the academy, but also to advance the work of the district. At a time when retaining teachers is a significant challenge, the leadership academy offers districts a pathway for their teacher leaders to gain advanced competencies to lead at the classroom, school and district level. Leadership Academy participants will:
develop the capacity and self-assurance necessary to lead in today’s complex educational environment;
understand how to effectively lead adults through active participation in an authentic community of practice;
engage in a Change Leadership Project to apply their learning while advancing the work of the district; and,
create a shared vision of highly-effective leadership practice.
The Academy is appropriate for informal and formal teacher leaders, individuals or teams; and, we can even customize it for in-district cohorts. Let CAS help you grow and retain your teacher leaders!
